Built for the stage, trusted by professionals
Glasgow-based electronics company specialising in professional audio equipment for live, studio, and events. From design and consultancy to manufacturing and servicing, we deliver reliable, road-ready and studio-ready solutions trusted worldwide.
What We Stand For
Reliability
From flagship products to one-off repairs, everything we deliver is built to perform under pressure. Reliability is the standard that guides our design, manufacturing, and servicing.
Innovation
The RSW Auto Switching Redundancy System set a new benchmark for touring artists. We bring that same innovative approach to custom hardware and design projects, solving real-world challenges for live and studio engineers.
Sustainability
We believe pro audio gear should be maintained, not replaced. Our products are designed for long-term support, and our repair services often extend a unit’s life well beyond its original spec.
Partnership
We work side by side with artists, engineers, and production teams to create solutions that fit their needs exactly. Every collaboration strengthens the gear we make and the services we provide. We are always open to ideas and opinions.
Our Story

Fretronics Engineering began while Olly (Founder & Managing Director) was studying for his MEng in Electronics & Electrical Engineering with Music at the University of Glasgow, repairing and modifying guitar electronics and equipment for local musicians. Working alongside the Guitar Workshop in Finnieston, he built a reputation for fast turnaround and practical, gig-ready fixes.

In 2018, Fretronics moved into CC Music. Still run solely by Olly, the workshop’s reputation grew as he handled more complex repairs for bigger touring bands and began official warranty work for other brands. This period also saw the first steps into custom hardware, developing bespoke projects for artists such as IDLES and Mogwai.

Fretronics Engineering Limited was incorporated and relocated to Elderpark Workspace, enabling major growth. The company expanded its authorised warranty services to become the UK’s only centre for several leading audio brands, while custom design projects scaled up to support acts such as Coldplay, Yungblud, Louis Tomlinson, and The 1975. This also marked the beginning of team growth, moving beyond a one-person workshop into a collaborative company.

At the start of 2025, Fretronics launched its first in-house product: the RSW Auto Switching Redundancy System. Designed in Glasgow to address one of the most critical challenges in live sound — seamless failover when equipment goes down mid-show — it quickly set a new benchmark for reliability and was adopted on major international tours.
By this point, Fretronics had grown into a team of four, combining expertise in design, firmware, production, and service to deliver a product that was both innovative and robust enough for the demands of global touring.

From a one-person workshop to an internationally recognised company, Fretronics has become a trusted name in bespoke pro audio electronics. Our products, custom builds, EMS services, and repairs are relied upon by leading artists, studios, and production teams who cannot afford failure — from small venues to the world’s biggest stages. That trust has been earned through a consistent focus on reliability, innovation, and engineering that performs under pressure, every time.
Our Team

Fretronics began with a single engineer at a workbench. Today, we’re a growing team covering design, firmware, production, and servicing — united by the same focus on reliability and performance, whether on the road or in the studio. As demand for our products grows, so does our team.
We’re always keen to hear from people who share our passion for pro audio — whether that’s being around gigs, working with bands, or playing an instrument yourself. If you’d like to be considered for future opportunities at Fretronics, send us your CV along with a short note about why you’d like to join the team.
We’ll store your details securely in line with GDPR and only use them for recruitment purposes, contacting you if a suitable role becomes available.
